Hello and Welcome Guys, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that his company Facebook Inc is going to be called "Meta" or Meta Platforms Inc. He said that this rebranding has been done to focus on "Meta Verse" or Virtual Universe. With Facebook's new name announcement, they want to rebrand company to show how zuckerberg is repositioning it around the meta verse which can be the key growth area among the young users. Meta verse will be a shared virtual environment predicted to be the future of the mobile internet.
This news of changing the name of Facebook Inc comes when this huge social media company has been facing the criticism over the security policies and market powers. Facebook's data privacy scandal revolves around the political consulting and strategic communication firm Cambridge Analytica where the collection of personally identifiable information of "up to 87 million people" was stolen through the personality quiz app called thisisyourdigitallife, based on OCEAN (the OCEAN acronym stands for openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism) personality model.
While Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg responded to the allegations and said that the documents were used to paint the 'false picture'.
Zuckerberg said the rebranding will reflect its commitment to developing the immersive digital world known as the metaverse. "We've learned a lot from struggling with social issues and living under closed platforms, and now it is time to take everything that we've learned and help build the next chapter".

Launch of its New Meta Watch-
The company formerly known as facebook is planning to boom into the market with its latest smartwatch "Meta Watch" with inbuild camera. A leaked image shows a square but rounded-edge wearable smartwatch with support of LTE and a second camera that detaches. The front facing camera is rumored to consist 1080p resolution and also could be handle video calls.
The reports have also declared that the watch will launch in summer 2022 with health, fitness and messaging features.
